Hire the handicapped
So this is a short story from my trip to the bank the other day. As I was leaving the Shaw's supermarket, I saw that there was a donation collector working the main exit (as always). Who this time. Anyway, I noticed the woman had slumped herself on the bench and set the collection can beside her. As the door opened I realized that she had downs just in time to have her growl "YOU WANNA DONATE!!" I wanted to say "DON'T YELL AT ME!!" but all I could say without busting out laughing was "no". What I found so outrageously funny is the fact that she was there by herself collecting for a cause not important enough to mention. And she was in a peachy mood. You know the more time that goes bye the more I am annoyed by what happened. I wish I knew what organization she was collecting for because I would ban them from my charity list for the rest of my life. Who leaves a mentally handicapped individual with (apparently) little inter-personal skills alone to collect donations? I hate those guys.

Quotes from my favorite manga
"...every human being relies on and is bounded by his knowledge and experience to live. This is what we call "reality". However, knowledge and experience are ambiguous, thus reality can become illusion. Is it not possible to think that, all human beings are living in their assumptions?" Not how I would have said it, but perception is reality.
“The object of war is not to die for your country, but to make the other bastard die for his.” A good point that probably goes unsaid due to the fact that it is more asshole than patriotic.
"Your living skills are so poor it's hard to keep watching." I have known a few people that this applies to...... and it is sad.
"If you don't want to lose, it's very simple! Just don't get into the ring!" Never has a truer statement been made. This quote reminds me of the movie "The Hurricane" in that he didn't lose because he refused to play along.
I would give credit to the writers if I could remember who said them or which manga they came from, so go out and buy all the manga and read it all..... it's good.

Jesus Camp
Tyler and I are watching the documentary "Jesus Camp". Normally I am understanding of others. I understand that others have different beliefs and I am happy that they are happy to have what they have and are happy to be what they are. The genius editing of this documentary (at least at first I thought it was the editing making these people look amazingly foolish) really show why the country is becoming dumber. I have noticed, in my own little world, a huge lack of ownership of ones actions, as well as a lack of ownership of the actions of our friends, family and peers. "It doesn't matter what you think...it matters what GOD thinks.....it doesn't matter what kind of person you think I am." I am watching this and wondering if these families are embarrassed by the film. I bet not. I can't wrap my head around the fact that they are probably happy to have had the opportunity to spread the word in such a way. I guess it is probably the same for them thinking how I am watching this and thinking "those poor children...how absurd a world they live in.....how are they going to go out into the real world and get a college education believing the world was "created" 6000 years ago. Believing that science doesn't prove anything. Believing that I need saving. More later....
